First post here at AffiliateFX and I wanted to share my experience with affiliate marketing.
I've made well over $900 from very little setup and I'm going to tell you how too. In return, I ask that you share your advice on how I can scale. You can make money in affiliate marketing but it does take time... not necessarily your personal time but time as in... months. Don't be scared, be patient. There are ways to automate it.
I've been an affiliate for over 2.5 years but about 1.5 years ago, I shut down my blog due to an ex-girlfriend who didn't like that I was in the porn game. Best part - over the past year, I have earned $500 JUST from having my existing cam links / posts out there on the web, in particular, I focused on Tumblr. Even with my site turned off! That's money.
Girlfriend is now gone but I'm setting myself back up for success & getting back into the game. This made me want to contribute back to some early stage affiliates and also get advice.
Here are my tips:
1. Virality - set yourself up on a blog platform which allows your content to easily be reblogged. This was the secret sauce for me. You don't necessarily need to setup a ton of sites and have traffic on them... all you need is content for people to share with affiliate links attached to images & text posts in body.
2. Automate - First, hire a programmer (or program yourself) a way to take image content from CB and auto post for you on a regular basis. Second, set yourself up with imacro to auto-follow people with similar tags
3. Scale - once you find success on one site, branch out to segmenting your viewers. Chaturbate allows for (4) genders and you can create unique sites for this content.
4. Think like a viewer - get good content, use tags, change the copy from time to time so it doesn't get stale
5. Track - you can track your links with the ?track= parameter. Maximize this by adding in parameters (e.g. ?track=websitename-female-image and compare to ?track=websitename-female-text). Download the data into Excel from Chaturbate's affiliate site and find out which types of links perform the best... then focus on those.
I think RevShare will pay you more in the long run and if you're getting into this - that should be your mindset. Getting people to pay you $1/sign up is good but the big bucks are with RevShare. Chaturbate provides all the resources, but you need to do the work to make money.
They provide you all sorts of links, promo tools, APIs, etc. THEY WANT YOU TO SUCCEED.
Example Links, provided by Chaturbate & Weebly site I made:
* Home Page: Females
* Best Converting Tour
* Weebly - create free sites like this (This is an example site I just made for you guys to see the capabilities within Chaturbate's affiliate program but I think it could do well)
Now that I have contributed to the affiliate conversations, my questions for you:
1. How have you scaled your affiliate programs?
2. Which affiliate is most successful? And which platform?
3. Have you paid anyone for SEO? Got tips?
4. How much money have you made? (Give timeframe and estimates, if comfortable)
5. What suggestions do you have for growth / growing following?
I'd be happy to answer questions for any of you just getting into aff marketing.
