Old Pal

I have a BA in Contemplative Psychology and a Masters Degree in Philosophy for children. For my entire professional career, from severely emotionally disturbed children in residential treatment to chronic psychotics and Alzheimer’s patients in nursing homes, I have worked with others in extreme states of mind. My greatest skillfulness as both teacher and parent is the ability to awaken and refine emotional intelligence and social (and moral) response-ability.

I play guitar and was lead vocalist in a rock cover band a few years ago that played public and paid venues. I have facilitated publicly-advertised philosophical discussions in coffee houses and senior centers, and in closed groups in residential treatment and in after school programs. I have also facilitated mindfulness training in multiple settings from the bedrock of thirty years of meditation practice. I am very interested in Restorative Justice programs and SEL standards in schools.
