I think the main thing is to make sure the site you are content locking is one that you either own or control. It being a movie site shouldn't matter, but you may want to stick with either public domain movies, or movies that you created or have rights to.
I think I am going to start working with POF since Facebook is making some drastic changes that will make Facebook fan pages much harder to use for advertising.
You may want to switch to CPM when dealing with Facebook. Doing PPC on Facebook is usually best when you are trying to get a good view rate on a Facebook Fan Page (and unfortunately they are drastically changing that).
Hard to say, but I know that PPV seems to work really well with EXTREMELY targeted niches. Does even better if you put up a related offer. Ex: putting gaming type offers on Traffic Vance.
Re: Benefits Of using Pay Per Click(PPC) For Promoting CPA Offer
You may want to try PlentyOfFish.com I've heard / read some really good things about it in regards to advertising.
You also have to make sure not to put anything in there to suggest to the people to click on your ad
Ex: Click here to order

Attention: "role based name" email prefixes such as support, webmaster, info, contact, forum, service, affiliate, admin, traffic, partners, marketing, etc., for our member accounts are not permitted. They are acceptable for a vendor listing, but not for the member email. This is due to bulk email processors scrubbing them for delivery due to extremely high bounce rates. Please apply for membership using a personalized email prefix. Something like bob@xxxxx.com.
If we discover you signed up with a role based name we will give you only one message to change it. After 3 days your account will be removed if the email is not changed.
