I believe it was late 2012 or early 2013, made my first site and I got approved for AdSense, basically it was couple cents I've made, I knew the shit is real because everybody was talking about how they make money with adsense ;)
Make your site mobile friendly, get free ssl from letsencrypt, post alot of great content, do on/off page SEO to see some results by the end of this year, it depends on your niche, if is seo you better stay away from it, too much competition, go for micro niche sites, might be easier to rank.
For simple blogs and simple landing pages let's encrypt is too much and on top of that is FREE. I use it on many sites, never had issues ;)
Paid SSL is good if you wanna establish your brand, big business not for blogs or landing pages ffs.
That's just my opinion :D
Just finished reading all your thread. I usually get free SSL from letsencrypt why don't you use that?
Wish you best of luck with your journey mate. ;)

Attention: "role based name" email prefixes such as support, webmaster, info, contact, forum, service, affiliate, admin, traffic, partners, marketing, etc., for our member accounts are not permitted. They are acceptable for a vendor listing, but not for the member email. This is due to bulk email processors scrubbing them for delivery due to extremely high bounce rates. If we discover you signed up with a role based name we will give you only one message to change it. After 3 days your account will be removed if the email is not changed.
