Microsoft will use a bare-bones version of the Windows kernel, called MinWin, as the starting point for the development of future

products, including Windows 7 and Windows Server.

Too bad they didn't start this a few years ago! Also, they should look at
their bloated Office Suite as well. Do you all feel that MS runs bloatware?

Will google offer a competitive OS by that time? I would guess that Linux will really be off and running mainstream by 2010.

It's about time MS did something radical.. they couldn't carry on growing Windows forever. But have they left it too late? Mac and Linux are on the rise.... could it be the beginning of the end for Windows world domination??
