301 Apache Re-directs and Google PR

I'm actively running an experiment to see if / how long PR will be
attributed to a new domain. My German Shepherd Training site is being
re-directed from and old sub-domain. The original site was on a sub-domain
and had a PR3. Every page (entire site structure) has been given a 301
to the new site's pages.

It is been 2 months now, and the site broke out yesterday with a PR2.
I am waiting to see if the PR3 does come up later this year.

Have any of your seen PR reduced or attributed with 301s? Many in our
industry say it will, so I'm waiting to see for myself.

The reason for the delay will be the scragglers. Are any of the old urls showing up on a site: search? Once they have all gone and been replaced bythe new ones, then on the PR update after that you should get your old value back.

I don't know if this is exactly relevant because I'm taking about a few pages not a whole site but I had a couple of dog pages on one of my sites, just because I like dogs. Totally inappropriate place for them to be though so I eventually opened my own pet site and 301 redirected from the original where they'd been sitting for a couple of years.

Now while the homepage is pr2 and most internals pr1 or even pr0, those redirected pages are a pr 2 and they have maintained for a year or so.

Thanks guys. As of 3 days ago, the site got a PR2, and so I'm waiting...

It's really beginning to get more and more traffic, and my opt-in subscriber list is hitting
the 200 mark. I'm beginning the monetizing of the site in March.

BTW, Skybow, show us your pet site!

You can see it here. four-legged-friends dot com. Please be gentle. I haven't had time to do anything with it for ages.

I 301 directed a PR5 domain name to a fresh new domain.
On the PR update that followed, the new domain only went up to PR3.

Don't know why it didn't transfer the full PR of 5!

Read what I posted above and then post back here with the answer, were there at the time of the snapshot any pages on the old domain ?
