AI v. Google --Adapt or die time (again).

The rise of artificial intelligence (AI) tools is quickly becoming one of the biggest threats to Google’s Search business.
More than a million people took to testing ChatGPT in the first five days since its launch.

With more and more people using AI tools to find information online, Google is at risk of losing its dominant position in the search market.

AI tools are becoming increasingly popular because they can provide users with more accurate and relevant results than traditional search engines.

Sure, some webmasters are simply trying to help others by sharing their knowledge or experience on a particular topic. But many are in it for the money.

When SEO's follow certain rules to create websites and blog posts that will rank high in search engine results pages (SERPs) when very competitive keywords are in the title, regardless of whether the information is good or not. Pages that are designed for SEO are useless for getting great information. AI answers replace useless SEO pages and put the great content first.
Without pages of results to sell SEM (Search Engine Marketing) ads on --Google loses it's monetization and the resulting revenue stream.

This is a major problem for Google, which has long relied on its ability to provide relevant results to users to maintain its position as the top search engine.

To make matters worse, AI tools are also becoming more user-friendly, making them even more appealing to a wider range of users. As AI tools continue to evolve, they are likely to become even more popular and pose a serious threat to Google’s Search business.

If Google wants to stay ahead of the curve, it needs to invest in developing its own AI tools. Otherwise, it risks being left behind by the competition.

A ready-to-consume format of information delivered by a chatbot is a severe threat to Google's business. Chatbots are becoming increasingly popular as a means of delivering information and providing customer service. They are typically much faster and more convenient than traditional search engines, and they are often more accurate as well.

This is a major problem for Google, which relies on users spending time on its site in order to generate advertising revenue.

There are a few potential solutions to this problem. Google could try to develop its own chatbot technology, but that would be a massive undertaking and it is not clear that the company has the necessary expertise. Another option would be to acquire one of the existing chatbot startups, but that would be expensive and there is no guarantee of success.

The most likely solution is for Google to change its business model to focus more on artificial intelligence and less on search. This would be a major shift for the company, but it is one that could allow it to stay ahead of the curve and remain a dominant player in the tech industry.

Why not deliver ads on the "Google ask AI" query engine? Adapt or die. This is the way.

This made me realize why Google stock (GOOGL) has fallen so badly this year.

The market must know and is anticipating disruption in the search ad revenue model?

Quora 'gets it':
Signaling its interest in text-generating AI systems like ChatGPT, Quora this week launched a platform called Poe that lets people ask questions, get instant answers and have a back-and-forth dialogue with AI chatbots

Short for “Platform for Open Exploration,” Poe — which is invite-only and currently only available on iOS — is “designed to be a place where people can easily interact with a number of different AI agents,” a Quora spokesperson told TechCrunch via text message

Porn wants to play too:
The group trying to monetize AI porn generation, Unstable Diffusion, raised more than $56,000 on Kickstarter from 867 backers. Now, as Kickstarter changes its thinking[/URL] about what kind of AI-based projects it will allow, the crowdfunding platform has shut down Unstable Diffusion’s campaign. Since Kickstarter runs an all-or-nothing model and the campaign had not yet concluded, any money that Unstable Diffusion raised will be returned to the funders. In other words, Unstable Diffusion won’t see that $56,000, which more than doubled its initial $25,000 goal.

The only real losers will be the Digital Luddites

How to evade detection (I have said the same many times) the OP concurs (more or less):

Well, I got burnt!

I added very little content, as that AI output made pretty good sense. So, for SEO ranking purposes, you probably need to be 40% to 55% non AI (at least).
If your purpose is not to game Google and the other search engines, and effectively communicate with real visitors --this is fine. You will never get your offer landing page that is written for ad referrals to rank anyway.

I wrote all of that by hand but 6.43% is Fake --WTF
Error Will Robinson LOL

Use of CAPs (sparingly) may help to evade detection.
Never trust in social media :D

So, I edit the OP (opening post) removing a few paragraphs of the AI content ... **and my 2 line summation (the tool trunicated it --just noticed),

I am getting real enough to get over on Google (maybe?)
Good luck to the winners.

>>>In this post-ChatGPT world, more than a few people have commented that direct responses could harm Google’s ad-based business model, with the thinking being that people would no longer need to click on links if they already got the answer. In the examples Google has provided, there’s no indication that it wants to stop linking out to content.

There are big safety and accuracy concerns, which Google has always emphasized when demoing. The fact that these models “can make stuff up” seems to be the bigger bottleneck more than anything.

Meanwhile, it’s not clear if people want every interaction with a search engine to be a conversation. That said, Google has acknowledged internally that the conversational approach “really strikes a need that people seem to have.”<<<

Fooled the machine ;) Right to the point of interest --will search and SEO still matter.

OpenAI is reportedly on the verge of becoming one of the most valuable startups in the country—and Microsoft is counting on its ChatGPT chatbot to finally make Bing a worthy challenger to Google’s search dominance.(<paywall)

The Wall Street Journal reports (<paywall) the company is in talks to sell $300 million in shares in a tender offer to Thrive Capital and Founders Fund that would result in a valuation of about $29 billion. That would more than double the company’s value, despite skepticism from some parties about its ability to monetize ChatGPT.

This is happening with or without you ...

I've been getting sooooooo many emails from Microsoft these past few months about the chat and Bing stuff. Both MIcrosoft and Google developer corners are pounding everyone on their developer portals with "Here's what's next...." stuff. Honestly, as I view it, while launches of backend and front end stuff pushes on a bit faster each year, most of what I have seen in these two for many years is a long and protracted announcement period before anything really gets implemented. My MSDN stuff started touting much of all of this a few years ago and here we are now just starting the "public prep" stuff.

I agree with your "with or without" prognosis, but let's face it, these two behemoths are always setting us all up for that end result. We may give recommendations in the developer circles, alphas may provide the feedback for failures and usability, but in the end none of us really have a say in what will launch. We just have to be prepared and find a way to integrate.

Realistically, from the SEO side; you can't check 2 billion websites for non-AI created content.
You can filter the quantity down to a few million possibly.

From the search user side; semantic relevance will begin to mean more that simplistic keyword density and relevance in the SERPs returned.

AI will probably be used as a snippet answer.

Search further: the SERPs.
But if the searcher asks a question and not a keyword or 2 --the searcher's question is answered and the is no need to look through a number of websites to look for answers or opinions. Maybe 50% of searches will be satisfied without looking in depth. Consequently, organic referrals decline and display ads become increasingly important.

Bottom line ad revenue increases and customer (searcher) satisfaction increases --SEO loses. Brand searches will always win. As for in-depth content IDK.

If the customer (searcher) finds their answer from the "AI Search Snippit" --why look further?

Almost like it's by design!:rofl

This is what they are counting on and it will be an influential side rail!

Can AI prompt a Defendant representing himself before a Court without being a member of the bar and licensed to practice law?
Could AI replace lawyers?

A program trained with the help of artificial intelligence is set to help a defendant contest his case in a U.S. court next month, New Scientist reported. Instead of addressing the court, the program, which will run on a smartphone, will supply appropriate responses through an earpiece to the defendant, who can then use them in the courtroom.

AI alternative to attorneys

Founded in 2015, DoNotPay is an AI solution that is aimed at helping individuals fight against large organizations for acts such as applying wrong fees, persistent robocalling, or even fighting parking tickets. According to the company, most of these cases are winnable for individuals but appeals fall by the wayside since defendants cannot afford high legal fees or do not have the time and resources to fight bureaucracy.

DoNotPay wants to offer its AI-trained program as the means to fight these situations while also saving you time from lengthy conversations with customer care when you wish to cancel a subscription.

How safe is your job from AI?

But that doesn’t mean all jobs within the enterprise sector are safe from automation. When pressed on jobs that could be lost to artificial intelligence in the future ChatGPT gave a list. This included data entry, data processing, customer service, data analysis, financial analysis, quality control, inventory management, supply chain management, fraud detection and transcription.

It explained that “these jobs often involve performing the same tasks over and over, and are well-suited to automation by AI” with jobs involving creativity, judgement or expertise the least likely to be replaced by AI – including R&D, strategy and management.

“It’s important to note that AI is not currently capable of replacing all of the tasks and responsibilities associated with these jobs,” the chatbot cautioned. “Instead, AI and automation technologies can assist with certain tasks and processes, and can help to improve efficiency and productivity.”

from:

AI continues to evolve --its impact is only going to become more and more profound. One area where AI is likely to have a particularly profound impact is in the workplace. AI will increasingly be used to automate tasks that are currently performed by lower level human and workers. many of these workers will likely end up in jobs that are more creative and higher paying than the jobs they lost to AI. History has shown that the workforce adapts and evolves to fit new technologies.

This is my edited AI text

a new detector --this is happening at warp speed --will AI just adjust --wack-a-mole? I have no freeking idea!

Separately, burstiness compares the variations of sentences. Humans tend to write with greater burstiness, for example, with some longer or complex sentences alongside shorter ones. AI sentences tend to be more uniform.
So, AI will only be augmentation to original composition?

Trust me --this tool is less than perfect ;) test, test, and test again ... :D some things never change!

On Thursday, Microsoft researchers announced a new text-to-speech AI model called VALL-E that can closely simulate a person's voice when given a three-second audio sample. Once it learns a specific voice, VALL-E can synthesize audio of that person saying anything—and do it in a way that attempts to preserve the speaker's emotional tone.

Its creators speculate that VALL-E could be used for high-quality text-to-speech applications, speech editing where a recording of a person could be edited and changed from a text transcript (making them say something they originally didn't), and audio content creation when combined with other generative AI models like GPT-3.

What is an illusion and what is really AI?

Looks like this is going to be a commercialized AI 'space race' .
$10 billion is a boat-load of money to invest in AI ....

But $10 billion was a huge sum, even for a company like Microsoft. Why were they making such a massive investment?

I quickly did some research and dug deeper into the details of the deal. It turned out that Microsoft and OpenAI had been working together for some time, collaborating on various projects and sharing resources. This investment was essentially a formalization of that partnership, allowing the two companies to join forces and accelerate their research.

But there was more to it than that. As I delved further into the news, I realized that this investment was about much more than just research. It was about positioning.

Are you a politician? Seems that your job may be obsolete ...
16 minutes well spent.
AI will do most of what we need to do by analyzing marketing data.

When AI bots descend on the likes of Facebook and Twitter --the game will radically be changed.
