Hey,

I'm with Beyond Hosting VPS and house CPVLabs. I'm paying about $50 a month.

Great service but at the moment, it's a little on the expensive side for me.

Would anyone have any recommendations for something cheaper but retains similar performance?

I use Digital Ocean, and works great for me (i don´t know if fill the requirements of cpv lav) but for 5 bucks i get 512MB / 1 cpu, 20GB SSD Disk & 1TB Transfer. Use the referral link i gave you if you want (they give you a $10 gift), I´ts UNMANEGED, that means does not have cPanel but i´ll install you Prosper if you want (i never instaled cpv lav but i can help you) also you can purchase a cPanel licence (for arround 200/yr), do the maths!
But cPanel it´s not necessary, you can install ZPanel CP wich it´s free
