In a press release on April 14, AOL announced that it has acquired Sphere Source, a provider of contextual search tools which offers related content to publishers. Sphere will operate as a part of AOL’s Programming division.
Before the acquiring took place, AOL partnered with Sphere to develop AOL News and myAOL service- Mgnet. It seems that AOL is very excited about this purchase because they could take huge advantage from the Sphere’s publisher network.
Financial terms of this deal were not disclosed.
