Are mobile subscriptions still alive?

Hi, guys! I've been to an affiliate conference recently and one person told me they work with mobile subscriptions (I guess it's colled mVAS) and he has some good results. Does anyone else do it? Is it still a thing? He said the results were better than with gambling, so I'm thinking to try it too, but idk... any advice on this? Thanks in advance!
