Article submission, free directory submission, forum posting - which one is best

Hello Friends:

I currently use 3 SEO methods to improve my websites and got some back-links for each site. I currently use Article submission, free directory submission, and forum posting. I do not know which method got me some backlinks.

Can you please rank each method so I know which one to focus more?

1. Article submission
2. Free directory submission
3. Forum posting
4. Others (please list)

Please advice.

I wouldn't quite know how to rank them all but I can tell you that back links are more related to page rank rather than SEO. SEO is the use of keywords for instance to make the search engines more likely to pick up your site, than a competitor. Links are important, but not everything.
