Autorun Websites

One of my goals on some of the static sites I run (not blogs)
is to have them run themselves. I have at least a few that do,
but my question to stimulate discussion on this is:

How much time have you invested, or "need to" invest in a
niche website - NOT a blog - to be able to sit back
and enjoy slight/heavy revenue from it, without constantly
tweaking and adding to it?

Content is important.
Content must be updated often to keep its value

So there is no other way than to keep working on updating a site. And after all you would anyway need to build your marketing campaign and to watch out for competitors. There is no way of just sitting back and enjoying the revenue...

The only Autorun type website I can see is an affiliate shop interface...

You set it up, create design - the rest is done by the main company.

Your only task will be promotion...
