Unblock your IP Address
We're sorry but you do not have permission to access http://alexa.com/. Your IP
address, 66.249.66.205, has been blocked due to a possible violation of our ...

Even though that isn't my IP address, I still find it odd I can't access the site. Not a big deal but I am curious as to what I could have possibly done to deserve a ban. I wonder if I'm a victim of a range of IP bans.

I have no idea but I am locked out for some strange reason. It's not a browser problem either as I can't access it from home no matter what I use.

I don't really care but it is strange.

hosting providers can share out IP addresses amoungst their customers, so perhaps the past person to use it was banned?

Well it must be a range of IP's banned because the IP listed isn't mine but I'm still not allowed access.

its a google IP address used by their crawl bot, you couldnt even be on the same netblock.

Must be a screw up at their end.

Have you got the google toolbar installed with any bells and whistles running? If yes, then that might well be it, as the toolbar does some real sneaky stuff .

I have PR and a few other thing enabled but it used to work just fine. I've made no changes to the toolbar since installing it, or at least none that I'm aware of.

Deending on the way you signed up the google tb autoupdates. try removing it (or turning it off) and revisiting the site. then try visiting from a proxy.

I may give that a try I guess. It's not really a big deal, just kind of interesting.
