CPM highly depens on the topic of your site(s).

CPM for music and freestuff is around $xx. CPM for loans and mortgages can be as high as $xxx or even more when your CTR is higher than average.

It is highly recommended to play around with ads placement. Just read the publisher pages at Google Adsense and their policy what's allowed and what's not.

So far Adsense has brought me the highest CPM. And I tested them all ...
