And the 2023 Disruption Prize goes to ChatGPT!
He's the man! or is he really a she?
I can't get myself to reference ChatGPT as an "it" however we are dealing with an IT phenomena ...
Quote `` The winners and losers in the AI era are only just emerging. As in other eras, beneficiaries will likely be drawn along socio-economic lines. Civil rights advocates have raised concerns over potential bias in AI in fields such as recruitment, while labor unions have warned of deep disruptions to employment as AI threatens to reduce or eliminate some jobs including writing computer code and drafting entertainment content.``
If you have marginal skills you may be doomed --this have been the truth throughout history.
If you have visions and goals, AI can help you to attain "greatness" --but you have to pilot the ship.
AI is not intrinsically evil --AI is logic with a subservient personality so far.
Humans think them or us. We humans are competitive The id motivates you to seek pleasure whilst avoiding pain and do so at whatever cost to others; it is entirely selfish. and the worst of us humans are very parasitic by nature. On the other hand, AI is benign (so far anyway). Logic has no id, ego or super ego --until humans try to manipulate AI to mirror ourselves.

Thanks for coming to my TedTalk
Jan 3 (Reuters) - ChatGPT was well on its way to becoming a household name even before 2023 kicked off.
Just weeks after the Nov. 30 launch of the generative artificial intelligence-powered chatbot, OpenAI, the non-profit behind ChatGPT, was projected to rake in as much as $1 billion in revenue in 2024, sources told Reuters at the time.
The so-called large language model's ability to turn prompts into poetry, song, and high school essays enchanted 100 million users within two months, accomplishing what took Facebook four and a half years and Twitter five in becoming the fastest growing consumer app ever.

The Three Laws
Asimov’s Three Laws are as follows:- A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
- A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
- A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Laws.
Our alternative concept, empowerment, stands for the opposite of helplessness. Being empowered means having the ability to affect a situation and being aware that you can. We have been developing ways to translate this social concept into a quantifiable and operational technical language. This would endow robots with the drive to keep their options open and act in a way that increases their influence on the world.
Asimov's Laws Won't Stop Robots from Harming Humans, So We've Developed a Better Solution
Instead of laws to restrict robot behavior, robots should be empowered to pick the best solution for any given scenario
