Bing Versus Google

Hello,

I just registered this forum while surfing and I?m curious about what you think about Bing.
According to some news it already started to overtake Yahoo. But it seems to me they can?t beat Google. I think more creative ideas and some vision is needed to overtake Google.

Besides of that there?s adsense and adword industry. Google is creative and established firm, Bing brings nothing new to us.

If Google creates linux based operating system, maybe they can overtake Microsoft?

I've been using Bing lately and I'm finding a lot of advnatages over Google. These are early days yet but this is the first emerging seafrch engine that may provide a real threat to Google's dominance - something I for one welcome.

Bing Fear grips Google; Sergey orders Bing study

FEAR GRIPS GOOGLE; SERGEY ORDERS BING STUDY

You'd think nothing would get under the skin of search giant Google.

But co-founder Sergey Brin is so rattled by the launch of Microsoft's rival search engine that he has assembled a team of top engineers to work on urgent upgrades to his Web service, The Post has learned.

MICROSOFT'S 'DECISION ENGINE' DECIDEDLY RACY WITH VIDEOS
Brin, according to sources inside the tech behemoth, is himself leading the team of search-engine specialists in an effort to determine how Bing's crucial search algorithm differs from that used by the company he founded in 1998 with Stanford University classmate Larry Page.

"New search engines have come and gone in the past 10 years, but Bing seems to be of particular interest to Sergey," said one insider, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

Google missed a marketing turn with the 'decision engine' thing

Is the search giant running scared over Microsoft?s search marketing blitz?

...

Probably not, but Google has always carried a bit of healthy paranoia. Bing is optimized around verticals such as shopping, travel and health. As noted last week, Bing works fine as a default search engine and I have no qualms recommending it to others.

What?s really going on? Google has commoditized search and now competitors are doing this ?decision engine? spiel. Google?s big challenge right now is marketing. How does a company that has talked search since its inception push this decision engine thing?

Wolfram Alpha clearly got under Google?s skin with its mission to create something that understands what people are pondering.... And now Bing enters the picture. Bing also hopes to be a decision engine with a ?deep understanding? of how folks use the Web.

You know, I never really found anything different except for the video section. I always hated Google videos...but I like how you can just put your mouse over the videos and it plays right there (talking about Bing).

On a different note...I'm wondering if there are Bing Maps - that's something I have to check out. :)
