Blocking and banning in Telegram. How to block any user bot channel or group in telegram.

Hi everyone, I've been working with the telegram platform for 7 years and share my experience and knowledge with international audience.

My main account is on the BHW forum, but I decided that your forum audience should also familiarize themselves with telegram. )
This first part of the post is about blocking in Telegram and how algorithms work when blocking.

Sending complaints. How many complaints are needed to draw the attention of Telegram to the violation?

There were cases when 30-50 complaints were enough to remove the channel with an audience of 3000 people, but this is an exception to the rules, as practice shows complaints are required much more.

For example, if the channel has 1000 subscribers, then for the algorithms to work and Telegram blocked such a channel you need to send at least 200 complaints (20-25%) of the total number of subscribers.

What complaints are perceived by the security system?

Telegram considers only unique complaints sent from unique ip addresses.
For example, if you send 10 complaints from 1 account, only one complaint will be credited. As of the fall of 2024, I found out that complaints sent from newly registered accounts or accounts with restrictions may not be considered by the security system. Also complaints from accounts whose country of registration is different from the country of the target audience of the channel or chat to be blocked may not be taken into account.

Speed of sending complaints and use of SMM panels

The speed of sending complaints should not arouse suspicion of the security system of Telegram, for example, if you send 100 complaints within 10-15 minutes it is very likely that algorithms will work and complaints will not be counted.
I also want to warn that complaints ordered from SMM panels are practically useless, as a rule complaints are sent using outdated report modules without rotational proxies and without observing the correct time intervals.

The most effective are complaints sent from premium accounts, such reports are counted by the security system in 100% of cases.

Comment to the complaint. Important or not ?

There is an opinion that complaints sent with a comment are more effective. There is no way to confirm or deny this information, so we will assume that leaving a comment to the complaint is recommended, but I would not emphasize on it because we know that most decisions on blocking are made automatically and the fact of having a comment to the complaint does not play a significant role.

Who makes the decision to block ?

Approximately 80% of all blocking decisions are made automatically, if the system sees a large number of complaints, the blocking algorithms are triggered and the content is blocked automatically. In some cases, the decision to block is made by a team of moderators, for example, if the content potentially does not violate the rules of the platform and requires direct intervention of a live person.
Blocker modules and software for sending complaints

At the moment there is no 100% effective and working software on the market for sending complaints to Telegram, nor is there a magic block button.

If you come across an ad for a “special module” to send complaints to Telegram or a “Telegram blocker”, avoid such offers. There are several working modules that come as an add-on to the main software (for example, Telegram Expert) but they have no proven effectiveness.

You should understand that such software can not work independently and even if it was possible to purchase such a magic program you would in any case have to buy accounts and rotational proxies as consumables.
Remember 1 account + 1ip = 1 complaint, the price of 1 account is at least 0.8-1$, by not clever calculations we come to the fact that to contain such a “module - blocker” would be very costly.

Do not forget that accounts in Telegram have the property to be blocked in case of improper use, it is necessary to observe the binding of the geo account to the proxy and make sure that everything worked without fail. The implementation of such a model is quite complicated considering that Telegram updates algorithms quite often and changes the rules of the game, that's why there is still no “blocker program”.

Official channels of communication with the security service.

Telegram has official addresses where you can send complaints, each address falls under a separate category

Support service takes a very long time to consider such requests and do not count on a miracle, although in my practice there were cases when the security service responded after 18 days and decided to remove the channel in my favor, it is important to understand that I provided strong evidence and attached them to the letter, and I was lucky that my letter was seen and considered, in most cases, such requests remain unanswered by Telegram.

If I put bots on the channel or chat, can algorithms work and the channel will be banned?

This method can really be used, but only in combination with other methods. For example, by recruiting bots you attract the attention of the security system to the channel and at the same time send mass complaints.
Exclusively by using only one scaling can block only open channels and chats that are less than 1 month old, provided that the channel will not be activated service bot blocking suspicious traffic from outside.

Blocking with spamming (Prohibited technique)

This method is universal and works even in cases where the chat channel or the user does not violate the rules of posting on Telegram. The method involves spamming on behalf of the target to be blocked through the pad channels.
For example, to block @username with properly written creative on average you need to send from 15,000 to 50,000 private messages. The chance of success is 50/50 but the target is blocked within 30 minutes.

If you change the base for mailing / experiment with creatives and spam mailing, sooner or later any target will be blocked. What you should know is that it is quite expensive. 10 000 messages on average cost 80-100$, what is the exact amount of spam needed to block this or that target can be found out only by experience.

In my practice there was a case when a client asked to block a channel where fraudsters were selling stolen software for mining, the channel was absolutely white and did not violate any rules, in addition, this channel had an active audience, which made the task difficult, so it took me 135,000 messages and 4 different creatives to make the algorithms work and the channel was removed. Unfortunately, when Telegram security doesn't respond and your reputation is on the line, you have to use dirty but effective methods.

Unfortunately I can't give you detailed instructions on this blocking method as many may use it for personal revenge or to target projects that operate fairly and within the law.

How to block a closed channel or chat ?

Closed channels are the most difficult target and they are blocked only by the “spamming” method I described above.
Often channels simply “move to another link” and blocking them becomes even more difficult, in this case a complex work is carried out to calculate the “account-owner” and the subsequent attack on him.

How to block @username ?

Similar to blocking closed channels and chats, quick blocking of a user is possible only through spamming on behalf of the blocked user. You can also use the official channels of communication with the security service of Telegram, for this you will need to collect evidence against the offender and make a detailed complaint, but unfortunately the official method very rarely leads to results.
