I am studying for a Masters Degree in E-commerce at Swansea Metropolitan University, Wales, UK.

I need help with a research project I am completing into whether Search Engine Optimisation is an Art or a Science, and I am inviting you to contribute by completing a short questionnaire.

Of course it is an art and not a science because there is no certainty as to how the search engine algorithms work.

However, you can take a scientific approach to certain elements of optimisation such as keyword analysis where you can have certainty in terms of keyword competition and search volumes.
