A 21-year-old Chinese mixed martial artist died on Friday after suffering from severe dehydration during his attempt to cut weight the day before.
Yang Jian Bing was taken to a hospital in Pasay, Philippines, on Thursday for suspected heat stroke. His 125-pound flyweight bout against Filipino Geje Eustaquio at ONE Championship 35 was immediately canceled.
On Friday, ONE officials announced Yang had died from cardiopulmonary failure.
