Client & Adwords

I have a client that wants to start up an Adwords account. I have my own - but should I let her set it up then I can take over - or should I set another campaign...and if I do, would that give me a different budget to work with? (Right now - I just have one account for myself w/ one campaign).

This is a little out of my realm, so only giving an opinion. However, with all the Adwords bans and with how strict they've become on a number of issues, I would be afraid that setting up a 2nd account yourself with your IP address, whether it's for you or a client, I'm afraid may send a fed flag. Plus you don't want something in this new account to potentially jeopardize your primary account.

So if it were me, given what I know right now I think I'd be temped to have her set up the account. However from a business viewpoint I'm not sure this is smart because I don't do PPC for clients. Seems like potentially after you do all the work to set everything up, she could potentially change the password and not pay you. I wonder how most SEO companies do it? I think I've read that agencies can set up an account for multiple clients. Maybe that's the way to go so you own and control the account???

Thx for you input Linda. Yeah - this whole thing is a little dicey. I've done a little PPC for my own site and the ads are running right now. I just e-mailed her to setup her own account - (since G will ask her for her checking account number and routing number). Even if she hands over the control of her Adsense account - Google will see that I am using one account for myself and her account as well - from the same IP address.

I've seen SEO companies that will do PPC for people - so like you, I'm not sure how they can do this. I'll have to find out. Maybe I should start reading Google's boring TOS. :(
