Comment spam on Google webmaster blog

Why do they even have rules like this? It seems like the internet should be more free but Google is the law inforcement that is able to dictate what is allowed or not allowed. I can't trust Google

Google is just a bully when it comes to free thought on the internet.
By rules: Do you mean 'dictates' that makes Google's rule mote *oppressive*?
To Google's credit they have released code that has been developed making the internet better.
I just thought the spam was cute and *In yo' face Googlemonster*
Sad part is -- some of those morons probably thought that spamming would help their SEO
