Confused

I noticed that the rules say you cant post a thread with links,but see that people on here have post with links to other site's so which is it?

Hi 99bones,

New members can't post links at all until they reach a certain number of posts. After that you can post links to other sites if there is something helpful to other members as long as it isn't your own site or one you profit from.

But no one can post a link to their own sites, as that is considered self promotion. The exception being certain forums down in the marketplace section of the forum as explained in the rules of each forum there.
