Definition of Acronyms & Terms Used by CPA Networks

Hello Everyone,

I'm hoping to discover the definition of many acronyms and terms used by affiliate networks. For example:

Promotion Allowed: DLS, SocialNet
Promotion Not Allowed: RegPath, Host And Post / Whitelabel

Tracking Pixels, Global Postback URL, and more. Does anyone know of a reference that explains what these terms mean?

Since I'm not even familiar with some of those terms I think they may possibly be unique to the network you are working with. Or you are talking about CPA networks (instead of affiliate networks) and I'm not as tuned into those. I'm sure your affiliate manager can answer for you.

I can tackle the tracking pixel definition for you.

There are 2 types of tracking pixels.

1) The merchant puts a tracking pixel on their thank you page that comes up after the order is placed. This sends the sale info to the network so it can be tracked.

2) Affiliates that do PPC advertising sometimes want to track which keywords made sales. One way to do this is to get the network to place a tracking pixel for the affiliate. Some networks will do this and some won't.
