dont use virtual number for test

some friends asked ,how did it going when i use virtual number for test sms .
i have to tell you ,virtual number not good for test or revieve sms , will have some restrict caused the results not correct enough.
you can try to use sim card numbers better.

Use a sandbox for this. Textmagic, Ring Central, Amazon, most any of the supporting infrastructure provides SMS sandboxing as far as I know.

no bro ,some carriers cannot send to virtual number ,will have to some error

yes ,but if you send spam,so much restricts on it ,not only the number issue ,and contain the destination filters and shield by local net

It's been a while since your post, but I wanted to offer some insight. I had a similar experience when I first tried using a virtual number for SMS tests. It was really frustrating because the messages either didn't come through properly or there were restrictions that made the results unreliable. I switched to using an actual SIM card, specifically eSIM Europe, and it made a huge difference.
