I have actually removed him as a user (that is why his post is showing as guest) I have also banned his IP

Do you really think that's a good idea? Personally I shy away from sites that you MUST register at to post or view the forums.

well then there should be a way so a certin ip can only guest post so amny times before they have to reg...

You can also alter your webforum options so only registered members can see the entire forums but guests only have access to a limited amount of forums, thus keeping some of the spam a bit lower.

Its actually set to members only to post. But when you delete a user which is what I did to the spammer, all post posted by the deleted user will have "Guest" as the poster.
