Facebook charges a higher CPC than the specified max CPC

Hi,

I created a new test campaign of FB yesterday. I set the max CPC to $0,45 (the suggested bid from FB). Today the campaign got 6 clicks, but the CPC is $1,57 which is much higher than the defined max CPC.

Can anybody tell me how this can happen?

Never happened to me mate. Have you taken this matter to Facebook Ads support?

Seems odd to me, never heard of this, You sure you didnt set the max CPM to 0.45?

I think I made a mistake by connecting a FB page to the campaign. FB charges for clicks to the page as well. I thought the max CPC was the bid for clicks to my website

Yeah. That's it.

Clicks for Facebook include:

- Clicks to website
- Click to fan page
- Click to open an image
- Click to read more text

So any of those will charge you something if you're using CPC.
