Free Domain and hosting websites

Since I am new to the whole affiliate marketing game, would it be wise to use a free domain and hosting site to create an affiliate website? I thought this would be good for me, since I know there will be alot of hit and miss with my early experience, and if so, what sites would you reccommend? Again I am very new to this, so my jargon is very limited.
Any advice?

Hi Peter, to answer your question you can use free services like Blogger which has it's own hosting and domain name like petersblog/blogger.com. But the problem with that is it is owned by Google and if they thinks it is spammy in nature or full of affiliate links they can shut it down.

The best way is to have your own Domain Name which can be purchased for as little as ten bucks per year. That gives you an edge because it shows your potential purchasers that you are a real person.

As far as hosting it is a good idea to get your site out on the web. The cost isn't that costly around nine dollars a month.
