Ask Me Anything Full-Time Super Affiliate (Money, Cars, Women, Booze) - Ask me anything :)

Affiliate
Hey guys

I'm a CPL super affiliate (I know, the term totally sucks but hey!) and I've been here for a while now, so I figured might as well do an Ask Me Anything since I had a lot of requests lately.

In a nutshell, I make a full time living cranking out my own PPC lead generation campaigns (usually in my shorts eating cold pizza from the night before) for private clients in finance, real estate and the investment sector. I'm not hear to brag and I'm not here to sell you anything - so if you want to know just fire away and I'll help.

Some have already asked me before so before it's being asked again, here's the answers to common questions:

1) Yes - I make a ton of money but it's more for sport now. I enjoy the thrill the most if I'm honest. If you really need to know: On a good and very busy market day, I sometimes make more than the average 9 to 5 person makes in almost a month! (Stupid, I know!)

2) Yes I've most likely done it - If you've seen Wolf of Wall street, you'll get the idea. Cars, booze and women - well, let's just leave it there you get the picture. Boys and their toys, right? :)

3) I've come a LONG way to get to this stage and it was anything but easy. Anyone who tells you this stuff can be done quickly or easily doesn't know what he's talking about. It takes dedication, hard work and a lot of coffee. For every 1 successful campaign maybe 4 didn't work out. But it's all a numbers game and the winners more than make up for the losers in this game.

4) Yes, I'm genuine and I'm one of the good guys - maybe a bit nuts but then again you have to be if you're in this game and want to win and succeed. I also won't beat around the bush, so if you ask I will answer.

Anyway - If you need some help/guidance with affiliate marketing or just want to be nosey - feel free to ask me anything.

Nick

Hey Nick - PPC + LP right?
You working direct or via networks?

Good to see you posting up and giving advice - maybe a case study?

Hey man, congrats on your success. I want to know 2 things:

1. How do you properly qualify your traffic for the sale? I'm in lead gen as well but my lead to sale is trudging at the 1% area.

2. Do you run traffic on FB by any chance? If so, how do you reduce the CPC so you can more easily make a profit?

I just started running paid traffic, here's my Journey thread if you wanna take a look: Lafftar's Facebook Ad Journey

Hey Nick,

I am very glad to know about your success and I really appreciate your efforts and hard work.
I am new to affiliate marketing but I know all the concepts and models. I have web design experience of 6 years.

I also worked with google PPC and other search engine paid traffic. Now I am very confused about how to start my journey. I am facing following difficulties
1- how to shortlist offers,
2- how to research about the offer and keywords,
3- how to choose traffic source.

I truly beleive that you can give me some direction to start. Looking forward to hear from you soon..

Hey Nick, you came up with this thread sec before i lost it :)
Much appreciated my friend!
my name is adir, and its my very first post.
here it is: im using a good ssd vps with cdn for Landing Pages.
tracking with cpvlab which hosted on the same vps
for keyword and urls targets im using scrapebox + excel manipulation.
mainly targeting competitors pages, SERP , and related pages/keywords
the traffic sources are all the ppv big ones 50onred, LI..
taking offers from peerfly + affiliaxe
I thinks that my LP's looks fine, i did had some conversations but nothing worth to mention. i feel stuck. and i dont even know whats wrong. LP not good enough? bad traffic? bad offer? (im pretty sure its not speed, cause the lp's get loaded at 0.5)
any tips or guidance to help me keep going?

1 - I stick to traffic sources that I know are good. These include Adwords and BING search PPC and a bit of Facebook. Anything else just doesn't work (apart from Email, however I just don't really do Email as too cumbersome for my liking).

2 - Yep, I do. You need to be careful here as FB generally produces a much lower lead quality than search PPC, so you need to pick your lead gen offers wisely ... otherwise you will end up with merchants/buyers complaining about lead quality. There is no easy way to reduce your CPC as it's just like Adwords. It all depends on CTR combined with how much you are paying per click. So same algorithm pretty much.

OK, this is actually quite simple:

1 - Stick to anything that pays you at least £10 to £20 per lead (not per sale). Anything that is lower than that is (in my opinion at least) just a waste of your time.

2 - Erhm, Google, Newspapers, normal Research? I usually just start digging around.

3 - I only ever stick to Adwords, BING and a bit of Facebook. All 100% PPC, nothing else.

No probs mate :)

I know what the problem is - your traffic quality isn't good enough for the offer you are promoting. You are essentially using a type of "low tier" display traffic that simply shows an ad to customers.

Try promoting the same offers through Google Adwords ppc where customers are actively looking for such a product (i.e. via their keywords), which means they are much easier to convert as they are already searching for it.

What type of offers are you promoting btw?

i have 2 dating offers (actually with adwords) in my country
the bids for usa + tier 1 are very high to my budget. i took a adwords ppc course wich was great - started to earn just few days after.
i started to use scripts in my adwords account just to make things more easy.
any good resources on adwords display?
so you think we should stay away ppv + banners traffic?

Nick - I am also a PPC Marketer as well. Adwords doesnt allow redirect from the landing pages. What do you do in such cases? Are you pushing the leads to your CRM and then pushing those to the advertisers CRM.
Or do you directly redirect the user to the advertisers Landing page, after he lands on your landing page.
Another question is - Can you explain your process of affiliate marketing through Adwords? Any Networks you would suggest we look at when starting off?

It depends on the product - there are some which you can throw the kitchen sink at it without the merchant causing any issues (i.e. sales based and the occasional claims based lead generation product). But for the most part, I would simply stay away from any lower tier traffic which includes display and PPV. Social traffic is the only type of display worthwhile looking into, but even then I tend to treat it as almost a secondary tier traffic source due to the lower quality. Stick to Adwords and BING ppc, it will make your life a lot easier.

Simple - I use host and post. Adwords doesn't allow you to use affiliate links anymore, so using the landing page you are given doesn't work. To combat this, you will need to send the leads directly to the merchant's system through special php forms. That usually does the trick and won't violate any of Google's PPC policies as you control your own website.

I'm going to start my Bing and Adword campaigns right away, thanks for the info man :)

Sorry, where do you find leads that payout so much? The lead offers I see on PF and the like are $1 - $3

PF tend to specialise in the low-end products such as zip submits, surveys, installs, etc. These aren't the type of products are after - you want to look into debt, claims, insurance, property, investment. These are the high-end products that make it worthwhile doing proper PPC as it allows you to bid high and still stay competitive.
