A bottom-of-funnel keyword is a keyword that is associated with a conversion, such as “buy”, “purchase”, or “order”. A bottom-of-funnel content topic is a topic that is directly related to the product or service that you are selling. For example, if you are selling shoes, a bottom-of-funnel content topic would be “how to choose the right shoes for your feet”. The reason bottom-of-funnel keywords and content topics have a higher conversion rate is because they are closer to the point of purchase. A top-of-funnel keyword, on the other hand, is a keyword that is associated with awareness, such as “shoes”, “footwear”, or “running”. A top-of-funnel content topic would be “how to start running”.
