I have a SEO related question and I am hoping some of the pros can help me out.
We made a new website about 5 months ago. We have been adding backlinks regularly (some paid, some free). We have only been using good links. We made a good effort not to use any junk links.
Our website is coming up in the SERPS on page 1 for our search terms ONLY if we remove the State we are located in.
EXAMPLES: If you search on Tile Installers we show up on Page 1.
If you search on Michigan Tile Installers we are coming up on Page 3.
FYI - the above is just an example. We aren't located in Michigan.
Can anyone give me any insight on how to increase our rankings for keywords with the actual State we are in.?
I built diverse backlinks with a large variation of anchor texts. Our On page keyword density is under 4%.
Any help is appreciated. Right now I think we are missing out on many searches.
