At the moment Google pay me relatively well to display their adverts on my sites - so their strength and continued profitability is in my interests.
As a company they seem relatively ethical and commited to the web (as I am).
Their threats to one of my income streams - text link ads is yet to materialise and difficult to see how they'll manage it so no worries there yet.
Generally, the purchasing of innovative and successful sites is bound to happen and (for the reasons above) I'm happy for Google to be the one buying. It would be nice to own one of those (overpriced?) sites, but that's not what I'm about.
I have recently started to use text link ads. If google did stamp down on this, do you think they would penalise both the text link ad site and those who are using their service or just the text link ad site?

Attention: "role based name" email prefixes such as support, webmaster, info, contact, forum, service, affiliate, admin, traffic, partners, marketing, etc., for our member accounts are not permitted. They are acceptable for a vendor listing, but not for the member email. This is due to bulk email processors scrubbing them for delivery due to extremely high bounce rates. If we discover you signed up with a role based name we will give you only one message to change it. After 3 days your account will be removed if the email is not changed.
