Google BL updates

Its interesting that Google backlink update is sort of noted by webmasters, Yahoo updates BL every day, this is one of the few reasons I prefer Yahoo to Google when it come to BL stuff.
Yahoo also arrange you BL based on how strong the links to your site is

What does Google backlink update means? How the process works?
My questions to temi and all seniors here.

What I feel google has two types of servers. One is live and another is just offline-here they get all information everyday ,. Using some alogrithim they send them to their live server. This is all my imaganition

Google back link update is when Google "show you" the sites that links to you. You can find this out by either clicking "backward link" buttom on your Google tool bar or just by typing this command into google search form: link:http://forums.ukwebmasterworld.com/ (you should of course substitute the domain url for the url of the site you want to check.

Once you type the command you will get a result like the one show in the image below:

The way you suggested Googles algo works is almost correct... all their servers are online but they just keep some info to themselve and make some public at certain interval for example the back would have been collected over serval weeks, it was only made public searchers today.

I agree with you temi, yahoo do better than google when it comes to BL update, I wonder why google did not follow suit.

Thats what make google very hard to manipulate and also google chooses only those links that will qualify as a vote to your site.

I am not sure this makes Google more difficult to manipulate, I find google far easier to manipulate than Yahoo.

Yahoo have 100% and then some better fake link filter than google.

I always very happy when I see the backling update, because it is the forerunner of the PR export. And I am still a hardcore PR fan

I just learn that Google update all the time but do not make the stats public all the time is that true, I want to believe that Google update server side regularly and periodically export from the server side, to the public side as OldWelshGuy said in this thread Google backlink update. In the case of yahoo it make the update available to the public side regularly.
