Google Desktop for Mac

I'm glad to hear it. But since Mac OS X Tiger (10.4) there's a thing called Spotlight. It's basically a indexed search and it's lightning fast.
The only advantage Google Desktop has is searching the net and Gmail.
On the other hand, that could be enough to make the app interesting to users.

I'm not suprised it doesn't have Gadgets. Mac OS had widgets (gadgets) long before Windows.

But Windows has its own built in searh stuff too, that does not stop Google creating desktop search for Windows.
Its just a way of making the Google brand more popular.

True. But Windows search doesn't work so well. It takes time to find something. Google Desktop steps in here with instant results.
But Mac OS Spotlight has instant results already.

Though if Google Desktop for Mac works as fast as Spotlight, I might just turn Spotlight off, and use Google Desktop instead.

My built in Windows search works far better than Google Desktop. Google desktop also miss some vital stuff when searching so I unintall it in favour of built in Windows search
