Google Indexing Question

Hi all,

I've been looking over my account in Google Analytics to find out how people have been finding my site. A keyword that I did not intend to be used (team canada merchandise) places my "Team Canada Apparel" site in the 10th position.

What I don't understand is why is the term: team canada merchandise picking up my team canada apparel page? As far as I can tell the only instance is the link in the sidebar. If that is the case, how come my main website (team canada hockey) is not being picked up when searching for team canada merchandise?

Could it be keywords in my all-in-One SEO plugin? I recently changed all of my pages to more SEO friendly terms, but I don't think most have been indexed by Google yet.

I'm not sure why you are concerned about this. The fact it that while you may optimize your pages for certain search terms, people are going to find you for a variety of terms you haven't optimized for and perhaps never even thought of. This is the so-called "long-tail search" factor.

Generally this is a good thing, not something to worry about. You want people to find your pages. This is going to help people to do that.
