Google has launched a cut-price document search appliance for companies employing up to 1,000 staff.
Google entered the enterprise data search appliance market in the US in 2002, and only recently entered the European market.
Larger and more expensive appliances are now available from Google in Europe, but the new Google Mini will attract smaller companies to a standalone document search appliance.
The Google Mini can index around 50,000 documents and will sell for around £2,900.
Google also announced that its existing Google Search Appliance for larger firms will now be able to search files in relational databases, as part of a software upgrade to the appliance.
