The UK government has responded to an electronic petition that called on it to ensure the BBC's iPlayer works on non-Windows PCs.
More than 16,000 people have signed the petition since it was created.

Thanks GKD, useful to know - even though I don't have other systems I think it is important these types of things are made available on all types.

We actually took part in the trial of this and it was quite good - but of course not all programmes were available and for some reason they seemed to think we would be more interested in catching up with East Enders than the latest science programmes.

Hopefully that will change with the new version.
