I am fairly new at affiliate marketing. Although I have been trying really hard over the past few months, I am still not seeing any dollars!!
I have may own website, which I have used to put links to lots of different shopping type affiliate links.
The problem is that everywhere I read that it is bad to use banners on your site, as they are a turn off to prospective buyers. So, I have tried to use text links instead, but they don't seem to be working either!
I also have pre-designed websites with Free Site Signup and they haven't been going well either. I have had just one sign up. Oh, and I nearly forgot! I also have a predesigned dating website with World Dating Partners, and have only had one sign up there too.
As you can see, I am really trying but it is just overwhelming me. I don't want to give up, just to make a modest income for the work I am doing.
Marketing I have tried has included SEO, Articles, Blogs, Mass emails
Please help me!!

Hi Deb,

Welcome to 5 Star. Thanks for joining us.

I really think you'd get a lot of benefit if you stop where you are for a bit and read all the stickies in the newbie forum. Then read the ones in the niche marketing forum about how to pick your 1st niche. I have a feeling you are going after broad markets like shopping and dating and if so you are competing with not only tons of affiliates, but tons of major companies that have big marketing dollars.

One of main things with affiliate marketing is you need TONS of targeted traffic. It's tough to attract traffic when you are a teeny fish in a huge pond. Think NICHE market (at least for starters). Learn to be a big fish in a small pond. Learn how it all works, start making some money, then look at a little bigger market.

A bunch of ways to approach this business, and what I suggest is only one option, but it's worth evaluating to see if it might make sense for you.
