Hi,

Does anyone have any experience with Wordpress Mage?

Hearing mixed reviews about this automated blog creator.

Thanks

Jack

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

The foundation of WordPress Mage seems to be twofold:
  1. find expired domains with PageRank
  2. purchase the expired domain and populate it via article spinners
Is that worth $900? No.

First, regarding #1, expired domains:

Matt Cutts Does Domain Roundtable | SEO.com

On expired domains, Matt said Google tries to reset pagerank/links for all expired domains to zero when they are registered by someone new. They don?t try to penalize the expired domain, but they also don?t want to give credit for the previous owner?s links.

FAQ: Google - SitePoint Forums

If I buy an expired domain with PageRank do I get to keep it?
No. Google, as a registrar, can tell if a website has expired and changed hands. They reset the information for that domain automatically as a result.

It seems to me that since you don't get to keep the PageRank of an expired domain, point #2 is pretty much irrelevant. Add to that the dubious, at best, value of spun articles, and again you have to ask yourself if Mage is worth the purchase price.

...about this automated blog creator.

Jack,

The words I quoted immediately tell me "gar-bage."

You can only game a system for so long, then your income stream will go up in smoke...period.

Here is another post I wrote that kinda covers my thoughts on this (automated "magic bullets") and other common topics.
