Hello to everyone at 5 Star. My name is Denise and I am from south Florida. I am a single Mom with high hopes of being able to send my daughter through college.

Recently I had neck surgery and was out of work for 3 months . No work... No paycheck. Not to mention I didn't get any help from my work place nor my government. Thank God for my church family, friends and my family. This experience has led me to rethink my future. You never know what will happen and we need to be prepared for life's little curve balls. When I came upon this forum I thought this would be a great place for me to learn and grow as an affiliate marketer. So it is here that I will start my journey. I hope to meet and trade info with all those interested in doing just that.

Welcome to 5 Star. What a wonderful and warm intro. Already feel like I know you and I'm glad this is the place you decided to start your journey. Sorry to hear about your neck and being forced to miss work, but it sounds like possibly it helped you with the conviction that you need to take control of your own destiny. Could be a blessing in disguise.

When you get a chance start reading all the stickies in our newbie forum. It will give you a good foundation and help you learn what to do and mistakes to avoid. Then work on finding a really good niche. Our niche forum has lots of free tools and resources. Then feel free to ask questions as they come up. We're here to help.

Could be a blessing in disguise.

I just remembered, a broken ankle was responsible for getting my online business started!

I was selling these big heavy camera systems and lasers to Dentists. When I broke my ankle I could not haul the equipment in to do demos, but being a workaholic could not sit around. Researched online business. Decided to teach myself SEO and started my own SEO company. Ended up following a winding road, took a couple bad wrong turns and then eventually that led me to Affiliate Management and then to my current very successful business.

So sometimes one door has to close before another can open.

Hey Denise and welcome. Your story is exactly why I think those who succeed, do. Your intention is not to make money for the sole purpose of making money, but to provide a better future for you and your daughter, which is truly a noble intent... I wish you all the best and please do not hesitate to ask any questions. This is a serious business like any other but it can bring a lot more satisfaction than most "jobs" and can be quite empowering as I'm sure you will find out... Take care.
