You can definitely make that happen if you have a systematic approach and execute correctly.
Firstly you need to have a strategy. It is easy to become lost when you go searching for answers on “how to make money online”. Then you stumble upon some guy saying if you do 8 steps you will make $5k overnight. Rubbish, total scams.
My List when growing another source of income is as follows;
1 - Identify A Niche
2 - Create Blog, Facebook Page, Pinterest Page & Twitter Page.
3 - Populate the blog with useful articles.
4- Grow your list through Landing Pages/ Squeeze Pages.
5- When your list has reached 50+ and you are getting decent traffic. Its time to start advertising products on your website related to your Niche. Remember, everyone, HATES being sold to, so you can indirectly sell products by providing a review OR telling a story on how you found a typical product useful that the reader can relate to. (Just some Ideas)
6. Continue to Grow & DRIVE TRAFFIC.
7. Keep Growing List.
Remember, Rome was not built in a day. But each email subscriber is a potential Commission. Treat them well, and they will respond.
