Your title asks how to be popular here, the answer is post and engage with the community. Be interesting and helpful, if you can.

But then, in your post, you ask if you should go slow or pay money. You don't have to pay money to be popular here. You can even get a resource vendor account for one rep for free, if you quality. Graybeard has posted the info above for you.
And just as an observation....I remember welcoming you in a different Introductions thread.
