How to Promote a Business Directory

Just wondering how you guys promote a business directory.

For an example, if this directory has say ten cities - and within ten cities, there are categories of professions such as accountants, plummers, developers etc.

If you want to get the word out for each city - let's take Atlanta, how would you promote the directory.

I have an excellent example of a business directory but not sure if I'm allowed to display it here.

Advertise or otherwise promote the site using the city name along with either the overall directory name or one or more subcategories beneath the city name.

For example, for Atlanta plumbers, use that or another appropriate anchor text along with www.yourdirectory.com/Atlanta/Plumbers as the URL.

Is that what you mean?
