.htaccess redirects

Couldnt find anywhere else to post this so thought i'd stick it here...

I'm trying to redirect my visitors from the index file to /SD-v2/index.php but its not working ..I'm guessing it could be the hyphon (-).
Heres what i'm using

redirect index.html http://www.strangedarkness.com/SD-v2/index.php

Whenever I go to strangedarkness.com I still end p @ index.html

..help!

Do a search for .htaccess or 301 redirect, I think OWG posted a tutorial on this some months back

cheers guys although not using it anymore I decided not to be lazy and move my redesign into the main dir sorry I 4got to tell you
