I need advice / direction on what's possible with these domain names I own

Hi. I'm very happy to be here and to learn from this community.
First off, I'm a newbie to affiliate marketing, but I have done a good amount of web publishing over the years. Here's my dilemma/opportunity that I need direction with...

I parked some domains I own at Sedo.com. Sedo's shown me what content is good for these sites, such as:
Site 1: money credit card processing - merchant services / merchant solutions. However, I thought pays.us would be a great gateway for affiliates to learn about available programs... a portal to market affiliate programs. That idea sounds promising and profitable, but I'm unsure how to get it started.
Site 2: dawn clean dish wash ie. - cleaning products / registry cleaning software / Anti-Virus
Site 3: travel drive getaway ie. - travel sites
Site 4: Quitting Resources and Information - smoking cessation
(I wanted to give you guys the domains, but the forum thinks I'm marketing them, so won't let me include them). If a thread-moderator says it's okay, I'm happy to reveal the domains I'm referring to.

I have 10 more .US sites that are parked at Sedo, but there's nothing coherent Sedo provides as content. ...Thus, the above sites are where I'd like to put my efforts.

What are your ideas for directions I can go with these domains? I am looking to work with highly established (well developed) programs, and use the simplicity of my domains to market.

Do I create content for the sites myself, or does the Merchant I affiliate with give it to me? I know I'm asking for the keys, but I am hoping someone out there will be able to point me in the correct direction... my finances are NOT allowing me to waste any more time. :/

I greatly appreciate all the notes, advice, direction, suggestions, and criticisms you all can give me.

Thanks,
Ashish:confused:

I don't think this is good direction you just trying to do.

From my experiences is not the core of business name of domain, but "value" you want to sell.
If the "value" is good for your customers, your business will be successful even if domain name will not be 100%. Simply customers will find you.

It is a bit strange to me to start first with domain names...

Sometimes you can just get money by using Domain parking. A website can change your site into a "search" page that posts a bunch of ads. So if someone types in your web address through google or direct navigation, you get money for every ad that gets clicked. It's something to do while you're waiting for inspiration, anyway.

CPA ads are always good to add to basic websites.

I'm a big fan of blogs too. Easy to make, easy to make money with.

Good luck!

I'm not fan of websites without real content. I think you should focus first on content and value you want to offer to your visitors and just on earnings.

msdollars. thank you. All those domains are currently parked... That's the service Sedo provides. I do make a little $ from it monthly from ambient hits that come from God-knows-where.

Blogs are a good idea, but how do we profit from them? Wouldn't they become a platform for others to post their affiliate links?

ah okay, i see.
I've become interested in intext ads on blogs. It's an advertising service that connects ads to certain keywords. Then you get paid everytime a user clicks on the ad.
It's not as obtrusive as banners anyway.

If you have the time to generate a great blog, there are so many advertising options that become available. The more users that come to your site, the more money you can make.

Hi Ashish,

Yes you aren't allowed to post links to or mention your own sites. Except after you have 10 posts you can post sites/domains for sale or ask for a site review at the bottom of the forum in the right section.

As far as affiliate marketing for those domains, there is really no GOOD shortcut. Yes some merchants give you a turn key site, but that's not a short cut in my mind because if they are duplicate sites hundreds of other affiliates have too then the search engines won't like them and you'll have to either spend a lot more time or money in order to get any traffic.

The best way to do it RIGHT is to take the time to develop each site (or build a blog), generate content and pick the right merchant(s) for each.

One of our mods, Ron is testing out a shortcut for monetizing domains from Google. I'll ask him to post here and tell you how that's going. Here's a little case study he's doing and sharing how much money it's making him. My guess is you could make a little more than you could with Sedo, but it's not going to be a lot. AdSense for Domains Case Study

I'll try to update my case study tomorrow. It's time for an update, but I need to separate out several of my domains to make the stats easier to understand.
