If Google cancelled PageRank

If Google scrapped PageRank what would your reaction be?
Would this affect Google?
Would it affect webmasters?

Good question. I don't think that PageRank would be eliminated from the ranking algorith of Google, maybe once it will be substituted with some smarter ranking system. As I experienced the developers of the Google are really very proud of the PR "show" and quite satisfied with it in my opinion.

If they did then I for one would revjoice, and the web would be a better place. WHY?

because people would buy and sell links based on a REAL REASON. being relevance and potential traffic.
