Hello everyone:

My name is Peter and I am 2 days into affiliate Marketing. I've read a few websites that were mostly trying to sell information on Affiliate Marketing...I really want to take this seriously and eventually make a career out of it...Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do I have to attend courses?

Where can I find the best information at little or no cost?

Should I take an internet marketing course?

etc etc

Your advice and wisdom would be greatly appreciated...

Hi Peter,

It's easy to feel overwhelmed when you 1st start out. In part it's because lots of people who are trying to sell you junk, make it sound like its easy to get rich in your underwear if only you knew their special secret trick. Not true. It's not easy to get started and there is no surefire path the success. Lots of ways to get started and no one way is good for everyone. But with focused effort and lots of learning, you can get there!

Be sure to check out all the stickies in the newbie forum as they are some of the best threads to read when you are getting started. They will help give you lots of ideas that have worked for other newbies and give you a better general understanding about how to get started. We don't allow anyone to try to sell you anything and we don't try to sell you anything either so it's pure FREE good intentioned advice.

Then the most important thing for starters is picking the right niche. The newbie stickies will explain that, then go to the niche marketing forum and you will find lots of tips and tools for finding your niche.

Ask specific questions after that and we will do our best to help.

I'm sorry if I'm being a pest, but like I said I am very new to this..I've read alot of great information on this site so far. My problem is that I am not computer literate. So what do I do to educate myself? do I go back to school and study a computer course? and if so, what courses should I take? I'm a Carpenter, so this is totally out of my realm, but I want to do this soo bad.

Don't mean to discourage you but takes a lot to learn Internet marketing and Affiliate marketing. Then too you have to learn how to build a site OR have the money to pay someone to do it for you, but ideally you need to know some HTML, etc. If you don't know how to use computers to begin with, it's going to be really tough. You need to learn that 1st.

I don't even know what to tell you for the best way to learn. Def don't need to go to school.
Computers are so easy these days. Just maybe a book or something?

So basically I need to self educate myself? Okay, I can do that..Whats really overwhelming me is that there is sooo much information I need to learn..I knew getting into this that it would be a long time term committment and I'm willing to do whatever it take to be successful,but right now it feels like one huge puzzle..lol...
