I learnt that some people are making quite a decent income from blogging, just wondering how this is done, just the standard advert/adsense ads or are there other soureces of making money from bloging I am not aware of?
I made $2.91 from Adsense last month so obviously I'm doing something wrong. Sensing this, I spent some time reading through the past couple of days and changed the location and keywords for some of the ads on my site and made $0.22 this morning. That's nothing, crap all, but it's already 1/13th of all I made last month so maybe it's a start.
Also I noticed the only ads getting clicked are the Skyscrapers I have (160x600), however these ads are much better today as well, relating to adsense and cheap domain names whereas before they general and uninteresting. That's also because I changed to discussing making money in a couple of articles and it seems to have made the difference. I'll need to do more articles like that.
Also, my site (like most of mine) is ugly as sin so I've been working all night on a new cleaner theme which I think will work much better. Once I'm finished I'll let you know so you can take a look at it and compare it to the old one.
Pen,
Lately, adsense earnings is not worth the bother, try selling links or ads directly on your site, I mean to other webmasters, you will make more money that way than via adsense
I've learnt a LOT over the past 8 months that have really changed my view on being a webmaster, I now see all the things I was doing wrong. That being said, I'm much more willing to experiment now and having been trying some new things.
Do you recommend placing an ad on my site stating I'm selling links/ads or do you know a site in particular where I can do this? If not then would you mind I started a thread here regarding my intention and asking people if they are interested, as well as me placing the ad on my site?
