The most common view of affiliate marketing is that it is dead. We have discussed this issue many times and have come to the conclusion that affiliate marketing has changed and continues to change, like most areas in our rapidly digitizing world.

One of the popular, although far from new, areas in affiliate marketing are info products. This is a promising area that combines high profitability and relatively low costs.

You will find more information about working with information products, their advantages, and some statistics in this article.

What are they?

Infoproducts are digital products that provide information for entertainment or purely work purposes, subscriptions to services or applications, storage space, and educational materials. Infoproducts are an online version of a product or service that can be downloaded or accessed online.

Info products include e-books, online courses, webinars, software, content subscriptions, and other digital materials.

Advantages of info products
  1. High Margin: Info products usually have low production and distribution costs, allowing for high revenue from each sale.
  2. Sales Automation: The processes of purchasing and delivering info products can be fully automated, reducing labor costs and increasing efficiency.
  3. Wide Market: Info products can be sold worldwide, attracting customers from different countries and regions.
  4. Updatable: Info products are easily updated, allowing them to remain relevant and attractive to customers.
What do online course offers look like?

Info offers - digital products developed by experts (or non-experts) in a specific niche. They can cover beauty, health, cryptocurrency, earnings, self-development or any other topic. For example, a course on speed reading is also an info product. In each such offer, experts prescribe recommendations, recipes, exercises, create detailed lessons and an action plan.

For example, let's take an info offer - a course on crypto trading training. The client buys it. After that, he gets access to a personal account, where he receives daily lessons on the basics of cryptocurrencies, trading strategy, market analysis, etc. Useful tips will help him succeed.

Another example - a subscription to a product such as a chat with trading signals. The customer gets access to a chat where he receives trading signals, can ask any question, ask for help or even make a request to cancel the subscription.

Approximately the same template works with courses on weight loss, time management, self-education, training in traffic arbitrage and much more.

What SaaS app offers look like

Info offers for SaaS applications are digital products that provide access to software that operates on a subscription model. SaaS applications cover a wide range of areas, such as project management, accounting, marketing, analytics, and many others. Here is what an info offer for a project management application might look like:

Subscription and Access: The client subscribes to the project management application and gets access to a personal account.

Daily notifications and updates: The client receives daily notifications about new features and updates to the application.

Video tutorials and webinars: The client is provided with video tutorials and webinars explaining how to effectively use all the application features to improve project management.

Analytical reports: The client gets access to analytical reports that help track the progress and performance of projects.

Support and advice: In the personal account, the client can ask questions and get support from application experts 24/7.

These examples show what SaaS and online course offers might look like and what benefits they offer to customers.

Basic strategies for earning money with info products

Affiliate Marketing: One of the most common ways to monetize traffic is to participate in affiliate programs that offer info products. The marketer receives a commission for each sale made through his referral link.

Creating your own info products: Another way is to create and sell your own info products. This allows you to control all stages of sales and get maximum profit.

Lead generation: Collecting contact information of potential clients and their subsequent monetization through sending out information and advertising materials.

What information products should I launch campaigns on?

Online Courses: Affiliates often promote online courses on in-demand topics such as programming, marketing, personal development, weight loss, and others. Using targeted advertising on social networks, they attract interested users and convert them into buyers.

E-books: When selling e-books through platforms like Amazon or their own websites, affiliates can use SEO, contextual advertising, and email marketing to attract traffic and increase sales.

Software and SaaS: Selling software licenses and subscriptions to SaaS services is also a popular niche. Here, you can use demo versions and special offers to attract new users.

Statistics

According to Data Reportal statistics for 2024, the most popular social networks and platforms on which you can, among other things, sell/advertise information products are Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Whatsapp, Tiktok, WeChat, Telegram, Snapchat and Douyin.

The Influencer.club company has collected statistics on the most sold information products, which are presented in the infographic below.

Top-Digital-Products-4.png

The best-selling digital products according to Influencer.club are all kinds of courses with a sales share of 35.7%. In second place are e-books with 7.3%, then cookbooks with 3.8%, printed materials with 3.6% and templates with 1.3%.

As much as we trust statistics, it is worth recognizing that the data presented above at least does not take into account digital products in the field of audio and video (which do not relate to training courses), SaaS (software as a service) and software (which can include various applications). All these types of products also make up a significant part of information products.

Statistics vol 2

To get a more complete picture of the SaaS and Software direction, let's turn to data collected by Apps Run The World, Forbes and Gartner.

The cloud application market has grown steadily over the past decade. In 2013, it was valued at approximately $30.4 billion, and by 2017, it had grown to nearly $86.3 billion.

As of 2022, the cloud application market is valued at approximately $146.6 billion and is expected to reach $168.6 billion by 2025.

Likewise, the SaaS market has also grown significantly. In 2008, it was worth just over $5 billion, but by 2020, it had grown more than 28 times to $157 billion.

Naturally, as the SaaS market grew, so did consumer spending. In less than 10 years, revenue from SaaS product sales increased more than 5 times and amounted to approximately $176.62 billion. These figures indicate a growing demand for SaaS products in the market.

There is only one conclusion

Subscriptions and use of digital goods have already become the norm, part of everyday life. And you need to use it!

Statistics confirm the growing interest and demand for information products. This market continues to expand, providing new opportunities for those who are ready to keep up with the times and use new technologies and approaches.

Despite the widespread opinion about the "death" of affiliate marketing, it not only continues to exist, but also actively develops. In the conditions of a rapidly changing world, it is transformed, adapting to new realities and trends.

Therefore, it is important for us not only to follow trends, but also to adapt to them, using effective strategies and tools to achieve maximum results.

The most common view of affiliate marketing is that it is dead.
So many times over the past ten years or so! It's like a Big Foot sighting - you hear about it but never see it. :rofl

although far from new, areas in affiliate marketing are info products.
Like most trends, I think this has come around again. A lot of affiliates got their start with info products. Frank Kern is one example.

* For those of you who don't know Frank's story, you can read some of it in this 2014 HuffPost article by Brian Ainsley Horn. If you dig into a search for Frank's early stuff, you can find more, if you're interested in some history.

And that's why I think info products can be so awesome! Assuming you have a really good product, if you put the work in the setting up of things initially, a lot of it can be automated. Frees a person up for other projects, especially if you've created your base selling and follow-ups well, or have someone doing that for you.

That doesn't mean you just walk away and ignore it, of course. There's always the marketing to do. ;)

Thanks for the great post, @Vimmy ! It makes me happy to see info products coming around again (still).

Well it is more and more competitive as so many people join this industry but also with competition the industry grows also and i think you cannot go wrong if you dedicate to this field
The thing its you need to put some real value for this business and focus on helping people also .To many people just spread links everywhere and if things dont work they say its a dead industry

I agree but I think the products that are of high quality or address a widespread problem, especially if the seller/author has built their brand, stand the best chance of success.

YES!

To many people just spread links everywhere and if things dont work they say its a dead industry
Agreed. If it doesn't work for them, they consider it dead and blame the industry. You know.....
