If you rank #3 for a keyword and then decide to go after another keyword.
Will you lose ranking on your #3 ranked keyword you put work into.
When I did a test on my other site, I watch my #3 drop to like #9 and my new target keyword got to #9 too. so I switched and went back to my original keyword and it was #3 again and gave up on new keywords.
I am talking about links using the keyword, incoming links. So I am confused how I can get both to go up and not down as I focus on one or the other.
