Hello,

I have a question: how to make a site to look good both in IE and Firefox.
I am quite a begginer in web desing and i faced some problem. I made one of my site in IE and after it was finished I checked it in Firefox and whole tables were missing from my site.

Can anybody help me?

Thanks,
Claudiu

I think if you make it to look good in Firefox then its a lot more likely to look ok in IE than if you design for IE then test in Firefox. The reason for this is that IE tends to be happy to display badly written HTML whereas Firefox and other browsers aren't

What software are you using to make your site?

If you don't know much HTML then the W3C validator might help you see where the problems are. http://validator.w3.org/

Hello

Claud, I have made some tests, and I have spoke with some good web developers and the answers is simple, don't give fixed dimensions to tables, this is one of the reasons why a page look bad in firefox and good in IE
I have implement this solutions and I was surprise to see the results. :)

Yes Ovi, this hepled me too.

For building a site i use Macromedia Dreamweaver MX and as browser I started to use Opera 8.02. It seems that if I make a site to work correctly in Opera than it will work in IE and Firefox and even Linux.

But I found another thing which is creating badlooking sites in Firefox: id's used for whole tables. The interesting part is that not all the id's used will make pages go wild. But there are a few, I just didn't have time to investigate more this problem.
